Who can earn referral rewards?

Any hYYa user on a paid tier — Pro, Elite, or Ultra. While you're on a paid tier, every friend who signs up and pays for a matching tier or higher earns you 1 month FREE at YOUR tier. If you're on hYYa Cloud Free, your link still works and captures attribution — you'll start earning the moment you upgrade to a paid tier.

What month do I get — Pro, Elite, or Ultra?

You always earn at YOUR own tier, regardless of which tier your friend picked (as long as their tier matches yours or is higher). If you're on Elite and your friend signs up for Ultra, you get 1 month of Elite FREE (not Ultra). If you're on Pro and your friend signs up for Pro, you get 1 month of Pro FREE. Reward = your tier × 1 month per qualifying referral.

Does my friend have to pick a specific tier?

Yes — your friend must pay for the same tier you're on, or a higher one, for the reward to qualify. Pro referrer → friend on Pro, Elite, or Ultra qualifies. Elite referrer → friend on Elite or Ultra qualifies. Ultra referrer → friend on Ultra qualifies. If your friend picks a lower tier (e.g. you're Ultra and they sign up for Pro), the reward doesn't fire — their lower-tier subscription would still entitle them to refer others at their own tier. All paid plans are billed in full at signup (there is no trial), so the reward fires after the 14-day clawback hold from your friend's first payment.

Is there a cap on how many friends I can refer?

Yes — 12 paid referrals per rolling 365-day window. That's 1 free month every month on average, generous for honest power-users while preventing industrial farming. Your remaining annual quota is shown in Settings → Refer & earn.

When do I actually get the free month?

Two-step: (1) when your friend completes their first paid invoice, we record a pending reward. (2) After a 14-day clawback hold, the reward is applied — your next billing date pushes back by 30 days at your current tier. The hold protects against refund-cycle abuse. If your friend cancels or refunds within 14 days, the reward is voided silently.

Can I refer myself with a secondary email?

No. Self-referrals are blocked by multiple controls: same normalized email (we strip `+suffix` Gmail aliases), one reward per unique referee, disposable-email-domain blocklist, and reward firing only after the 14-day clawback hold on a real payment (so there's no trial to farm). Family members on different cards and devices remain legitimate.

What if I'm on Free or Trial?

On the free tier, your referral link works and captures attribution — you start earning the moment you're on a paid plan. On hYYa Cloud Free, you can share hYYa via the plain hyya.ai link; your personal code-attributed link activates once you're a paying member. Either way, prior sign-ups don't backfill — you earn on paid referrals that happen once you're a paying member.

How do I find my referral link?

Inside the hYYa app: Settings → Subscription (paid members see the Refer & earn block at the bottom) OR Settings → Share. Your code-attributed share URL is available once you're a paying member; on hYYa Cloud Free you can share the plain hyya.ai link, which still captures attribution. Copy and share anywhere — the link captures attribution automatically when your friend visits hyya.ai.
